Ageing: A Part of Life

Book Design
Interviewing & Stories
2022

This project
looks at why younger people worry about ageing by interviewing four different age groups and presenting their stories in a book. It also shows how our bodies change over time, hoping to help people better understand older adults and take steps to improve their own ageing experience while creating a more age-friendly environment together.

The Book Design
I designed a book consisting of four parts: attitudes of people of different ages towards aging,
the physical condition at each age, the corresponding social phenomena and stories.

Part 1: Interviewing
I interviewed people from different age groups with questions related to aging
and turned their answers into illustrations with my reflections.

Part 2: Physical Condition
In this part, I decided to show the change of our bodies in corresponding age groups
in order to encourage audiences to be aware of their bodies and express an inclusive attitude towards ageing.

Part 3: Social Issues
I illustrated social issues related to aging and public health life that
have been highly discussed in China in different age groups.

Part 4: Stories
To show my reflections after interviewing and researching,
I chose to create a story for each age group based on the materials and feelings that I collected.

Attached Booklet
I also made an attached booklet about how to prepare for a dignified life when we are old
based on my experience and interviews during the process of this project.
